are you real?
every album has that one song.
the one that raises its head just a little taller than the rest. shines a little differently. the one you can't fully explain but can't stop listening to.
for introverse, that song is are you real?
it starts with a baritone guitar riff. the drums sound almost electronic but they're played live. and then the vocals come in, layered and dreamy, asking a question that i think a lot of us carry around without ever saying out loud.
are you real?
it's about that moment when something good enters your life - a feeling, a person, a version of yourself - and instead of accepting it, you question it. you hold it at arm's length. you ask if it's real because part of you isn't sure you deserve it.
this song is the answer. yes. it's real. you're real.
i recorded it twice, lived with it for months, and when i finally got it right i knew immediately. this is the one.
welcome to the introverse.
Lyrics
be the moon
crashing on the waves
take me down
i'm with you all the way
find me diving
bubbles rising
love is flowing
growing
not feeling empty
skin and bones
the soul is hard to find
be the way
for troubles left behind
rise up to a dry reality
a beguiling mystery
i need to know are you real?
are you real?
